OPEN STUDIOS
Each season 4heads provides free studio residencies for selected artists. The importance of affordable creative space is essential to the cultural future of New York City. As the cost of work space is beyond the reach of most artists in New York 4heads felt the need to make studio spaces available. These studios are open to the public allowing visitors to Governors Island the opportunity to meet artists at work and to view our historic spaces. Resident’s studios are open weekends from June 24th through September 30th, 11am to 6pm.
EDUCATION
4heads partners with youth organizations to offer arts education courses. Our professional artists, from leading institutions, offer students the chance to study with working artists. For many young people this their only opportunity to be exposed to the arts. Governors Island provides a safe park environment in which to learn with lots of open spaces to enjoy. If your organization would like to partner in an arts curriculum with 4heads please contact us at edu@4heads.org
